Running a drone operation isn’t easy. Especially doing it alone. With our support we can get you in the air and making more sooner!
Drone Spray aim to make this easier for operators and growers through a partnership agreement. We have been doing this a while and through this time we have struggled through some major hurdles. We are ready to pass on this knowledge so you don’t have to do the same.
We believe in working together for mutual success. Each new operation that joins the team bolsters the brand and our reputation in turn providing benefits for operations in all regions.
Everyone has different needs so we are able to offer a tailored agreement based on this. We can offer the following services:
- Expert advice and support through training and equipment setup
- Sales and support of XAG Agricultural drones and related equipment
- Ability to fly under our CAA Part 102 exposition
- Advanced technical support and industry knowledge
- Use of the ‘Drone Spray’ and ‘Drone Survey’ brand and marketing materials
- Passing on of inbound leads and relationships with larger companies in your region
- Strong Relationships with suppliers and training providers
How it Works
- Complete partnership agreement with Drone Spray
- Purchase drone and required gear – Depending on suppliers’ stock and the current international shipping environment, this can take up to three months.
- Complete required training
- Pilot chemical rating – a three-day in-person course that covers chemicals and application methods
- Part 102 pilot certification – three-day in-person training on how to use the drone and UAV-related regulations. Also includes a basic flying test
- Pilot training – Internal training on how to use the drone and best practices
- UAV Agricultural rating – one-day practical assessment involving the spraying of chemicals
- Sales and job-specific training – internal training and ongoing support. To get started you can also shadow one of our current operators on a few jobs to get a good idea of the work involved.
- Purchase required gear – We have a standardized trailer and spray setup that can get you operating quicker. This can also be customized depending on individual needs.

Leveraging off of our experience and credibility can also give you a kick start when talking to new customers. Using our joint venture structure also reduces the initial capital requirements.

Doing this line of work can be difficult, and it is even harder doing it by yourself. As part of the Drone Spray Group we can support each other. This also helps in tendering for larger jobs or jobs that are across different regions.

We have completed a range of jobs in various industries. This experience can be leveraged to get started, better quote for jobs and avoid costly mistakes. Our knowledgebase is expanding with documentation in these areas and we are always available for phone and email support. Our team also has background experience in tractor spraying, sheep/beef farming, IT and sales/marketing. As our team grows this pool of experience also grows.

We often get requests to do work in different areas that we currently can’t service. Our network is growing and we are starting to work with larger nationwide companies. From this more local work can be expected.
Branding and Marketing
We have invested in good quality branding. As we do more work more content is being created to further this brand and increase exposure. This includes the ‘Drone Survey’ and ‘Drone 1080’ brands. We pride ourselves in doing a good job so our strong brand increases trust, reputation and credibility with new clients.
Shared costs and buying power
Costs for general items can be shared across the regions. As we grow in size this can also include bulk buying of chemical and gear.

Sharing of gear
Certain gear such as surveying drones and drones for more niche operations can be shared across the regions. We plan to also have spare drones that can be used during periods of complete failure to ensure your operations remain intact.
Relationships
We have good relationships with our main XAG supplier and with training providers. We are also planning to create a drone user group to have more influence on the industry in general.
Systems
We have created a job management system to make booking and recording jobs easier. We also have a Knowledgebase for technical data and Standard operating procedures.
